About the role:
A vacancy has arisen within our Sealions and Penguins department at Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park.
We are looking for an experienced trainer/ presenter to join our team and fill this role to include the daily husbandry routine as well as the demonstrations and training sessions.


About you:
You are expected to have worked in a zoo environment with a focus marine mammals and operant conditioning for at least 2 years. You will ideally posses an animal related qualification and have experience with Sealions and water quality control. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills to be able to confidently deliver a presentation using a head microphone in a fun and informative manner.

About us:
Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park is situated on the edge of Exmoor National Park overlooking the beautiful village of Combe Martin in North Devon. Set in a stunning valley with natural running streams with an almost tropical feel.

Pour ce faire, vous serez chargé du dressage, de l’alimentation des otaries mais aussi du nettoyage de l’espace de travail.
Polyvalent, vous devez assurer diverses autres missions.

Le poste nécessite de l’expérience vis-à-vis du contact avec des animaux, de préférence des otaries, le sens du travail en équipe et le sens de l’observation.
Vous portez l’uniforme de l’entreprise.

Blair Drummond Safari and Adventure Park is situated in Scotland midway between Glasgow and Edinburgh just 4 miles from Stirling.

A vacancy has arisen for an experienced Sea Lion Presenter/Trainer. This is a full time permanent position and the successful applicant will be required to present Sea Lion displays to visitors during our open season.
Our presentations aim to be interactive, educational and fun and combine a strong conservation message with humour and high energy behaviours. The candidate must be hard-working, motivated and dynamic.

Role and Requirements

The successful applicant will:

•    Oversee the day to day running of the department and manage a small team of staff.
•    Maintain the health and welfare of our Californian Sea Lions, including diets and all husbandry requirements.
•    Maintain the ongoing development of new training and presentation programmes.
•    Have excellent communication and presentation skills, a positive “can do” attitude and work towards the longer-term goals of the safari park.

Hours: In season full time / out of season part time. Flexible hours/ patterns of work is necessary in this post.

APAB Ltd has an exciting opportunity to join our bird and sea lion display team at Pleasurewood Hills Leisure Park, Lowestoft , Suffolk (UK).

The responsibilities of the post will be both varied and rewarding. A diligent personality is required to ensure you achieve the highest standard of animal care and husbandry. In addition to this the candidate will be expected to maintain clean and safe standards of work all sections of the animal department and facilities.

The successful candidate will be expected to be very personable and able to communicate well with visitors, including delivery of scheduled displays throughout the season. Prior experience in the animal care sector, particularly with birds and/or pinnipeds would be an significant advantage although candidates will be judged on their own merits.

Blue Reef Aquarium in Tynemouth seeks Sea Lion Keeper/Trainer

Blue Reef Tynemouth Aquarium, located on the North East coast, 6 miles from the centre of Newcastle up Tyne is seeking a full time Sea Lion Trainer/Keeper in its Mammal Department.

You will be responsible for the care, training and all aspects of animal husbandry of the aquariums two Californian Sea Lions. In addition to animal care and training, this position will also include daily maintenance of the Life Support System, cleaning, environmental enrichment, record keeping, presentations, media events and guest interactions.

The minimum requirements for this position are:

  •  Sea Lion training experience of at least 2 years
  •  An understanding of behavioural enrichment
  •  Current knowledge of natural history, animal behaviour and husbandry
  •  Team orientated attitude with good communication skills
  •  Strong public presentation skills and enthusiastic attitude
  •  Good level of physical fitness


This is a full time position and includes working weekends and bank holidays.

We are offering an exciting oppurtunity for an experienced animal trainer interested in assuming a senior role in our Sea Lion department.

The succesful candidates duties will include assisting in the care, training, and presenting of the park’s Sea Lions. They will be involved in all aspects of their animal husbandry and will also be responsible for the care of our African Penguins.

This position also offers the oppurtunity to assist in public swims with the Sea Lions. We are currently the only park in the UK which offers swim encounters with marine mammals.

The succesful candidate will need to be hard working, physically fit, reliable and have a positive and enthusiastic attitude. They will need to have a minimum of three years experience in animal training, preferably at least two with Sea Lions.

With the completion of Blackpool Zoo’s Active Oceans devolvement we are looking to employ a full time experienced Sea Lion Presenter/Trainer, to assist and help develop the events side of the zoo’s animal department.

The successful candidate will assist in the care, training, and presenting of the zoo’s sea lions and will be involved in all aspects of their animal husbandry. They will also assist on other parts of the Large Mammal Section and other events animals.

You will need to be hard working, physically fit, enthusiastic and reliable. A minimum of 3 years Animal training and presenting experience (2 years with sea lions), plus proven people skills, and a qualification related to animals/wildlife or a willingness to undertake the Advanced National Certificate in the Management of Zoo Animals.

Although at the moment the main focus will be the management and training of sea lions, birds & other mammals may eventually be used.

Experienced candidates are invited to apply for a Deputy Team Leader vacancy within Woburn Safari Park. This is a senior post within the Department of Animal Management and Conservation covering the pedestrian area of Woburn Safari Park.

The area includes four walkthrough enclosures (including an award winning lemur walkthrough) and numerous educational demonstration areas from birds of prey, parrots and sea lions.

The person will be expected to deputise to the team leader and so effectively line manage over twenty staff during peak periods. Organisational skills teamed with strong administration skills would be an asset.

This area of the park accounts for the majority of the visitor’s stay and as a result, the successful candidate must be animal, staff and customer focused.

Woburn Safari Park's Department of Animal Management and Conservation is committed to both conservation and welfare, and is fortunate to have the space in which these goals can be best met. Potential staff must share this commitment. Woburn offers a competitive pay structure for the best candidates which will range from £18305 - £18946 dependent upon qualifications and experience.
