Chessington World of Adventures - Experienced and Trainee Keepers

Chessington World of Adventures is looking for Experienced and Trainee Keepers

Permanent Full-time

Location: Chessington, Surrey, UK

Salary: £Various + benefits

Guests visit Chessington World of Adventures for Britain’s wildest day out and the animals they encounter all add to the atmosphere of excitement and discovery. That’s why our zoo is expanding, and why we’re now looking for more experienced and trainee keepers to come and join the team.

About the role:

From Tigers to Sharks, Gorillas and Military Macaws to Marmosets, our Zoo and SEA LIFE Centre already boast a huge array of wildlife - but we have even bigger plans for the future. New for 2010 are our Wild Asia, Serengeti Plain and Lorikeet Lagoon attractions – which are all designed to help our guests get up even closer and more personal with the cheeky, the mischievous and the exotic – and in each of the roles that we have available, you’ll be right there at the heart of it. Whichever role you choose and wherever in the Park you join us, you’ll be here to make sure that everything runs smoothly. That means delivering unrivalled standards of animal husbandry and welfare and creating the most stimulating environment possible – not just for our guests, but for the animals too - and since we’re big on conservation, education and research and you’ll have a big part to play in that too.

About you:

We have a variety of roles available – including that of Head Keeper, as well as specialists in Carnivores & Gorillas, Ungulates, Birds and Aquaria. We also have a number of trainee opportunities on offer. Each one calls for a different level and area of expertise, of course. But for all roles, every bit as important as a passion for the animals you’ll be taking care of is the spirit of adventure everyone at Chessington shares.

About us

Chessington World of Adventures offers explorers of all ages the chance to go wild and leave the dull restraints of everyday life behind. With our extraordinary blend of rides and wildlife, we focus on providing a great day out for all the family. Not only will you be working at the heart of a brand that’s all about freedom, discovery and fun-filled challenges, you’ll also be joining a business that’s part of the massively successful Merlin Entertainments Group – the world’s second largest visitor attraction operator attracting over 32.5 million visitors a year.
