ANIMAL MANAGER - Knowsley Safari Park
Knowsley Safari Park is approaching its 40th year as an iconic North West attraction, and, following the reorganisation of the Animal Division and the appointment of a new Head of the department, is now looking to appoint his deputy to help lead the Safari Park into a new era in which research and conservation play a greater part than ever before. We have a great team of staff whose abilities, ideas and energies need good hands on leadership; we also have a great collection of animals which need the highest standards of care. The Animal Manager will be central to the success of both.
In this person, we are looking for an excellent people manager with a wealth of animal experience under their belt. A specialism in pachyderms is a must with the ability to make a positive contribution to, not only the Animal Division, but the Park as a whole. We are looking for a hands on, motivational individual with the ability to develop and mentor staff as well as having understanding of how an animal collection and visitor attraction operates.
The position is full time, working 5 out of 7 days in the week. Hours will include bank holidays and weekends. For more information about the Park, please check our website http://www.knowsleysafariexperience.co.uk/
In return, Knowsley Safari Park is offering a salary of £25k to £30k as well as on-site accommodation, a generous pension scheme and ongoing training.
For an application form and further details about the position, please email Human Resources at t.mcshane@knowsley.com clearly stating the reference number in the subject box of the email specifying whether you wish details to be emailed or posted.
Closing date: Wed 21 July 2010 at 5pm
