Opened in 1971 Knowsley Safari Park
is one of the largest safari parks in the UK.
The park has five mile safari drive with a lion pride, white rhino and a
variety of antelope species to name a few.
The Walkaround section
at Knowsley Safari Park is a dynamic section with a wide variety of species. We
manage our herd of 6 African elephants in a protected contact system. We also manage giraffe, meerkats and red
river hogs. As well as a large mixed exhibit ‘The equatorial Trail’. On top of
this we run the reptile house and the walk through bat forest.
The Park is going
through a period of change and we are looking for a flexible, enthusiastic,
experienced, proactive keeper to help support us in implementing these changes.
They will be expected to have an animal based qualification and a full clean
driving licence. Experience driving tractors and off road vehicles would be advantageous.
This is a permanent
position which will include bank holidays and weekends, although there is a
rota providing one in every three weekends off work.
