Marine & Freshwater Projects Coordinator

£14,852 – 18,893 plus London Weighting
12 month contract

The Zoological Society of London’s (ZSL) Marine & Freshwater Conservation Programme seeks to bring direct and sustained conservation benefits to marine, coastal and freshwater wildlife and their habitats. ZSL is looking to recruit a dynamic individual to act as Projects Coordinator for the Programme. They will be responsible for managing financial, logistical, administrative and reporting requirements for conservation projects, including those arising from collaborative arrangements between ZSL and partner organisations. They will also be taking part in field work relating to the Thames Estuary project.

This job would suit a recent Masters graduate in the field of aquatic / marine biology, or similar discipline, who is looking to develop a career in conservation. They will have an understanding of, and passion for, the conservation of aquatic habitats and fauna both in the UK and abroad.

The successful candidate will be independently driven and show initiative; confident in verbal and written communications, with good inter-personal skills; numerate, preferably with an understanding of statistical analysis; and have good time management and organisational skills. We would expect the applicant to be pro-active and would encourage them to become involved in the development / revision of projects, methodologies and reports.

A full driving licence is essential.

This grant-funded position is a 12 month contract and will be located in London with some travel.
