Experienced Primate Keepers - Twycross Zoo

Experienced Primate Keepers - Twycross Zoo
Up to £17,300 pa

Twycross Zoo, based in Leicestershire, is a registered charity and is famous for its collection of primates. We are proud of the work we do in conservation and education and take part in many captive breeding programmes for endangered animals. About three quarters of the animals housed at Twycross are classed as endangered species.

We need experienced primate keepers to join one of our primate sections caring for spider monkeys, langurs, lemurs, colobus, guenons and others. It is ideal if you have already achieved an animal-related qualification, but it is more important to have “hands on” experience of caring for primates. We are not looking for more trainee keepers at this point.

Pay ranges from £15,693 pa for a Grade 2 Keeper up to £17,300 pa for a Senior Keeper.

Grade is determined by the job holder’s level of competence, expertise and knowledge, not length of service at the Zoo.

The shift pattern is 6 days on and 2 off and we offer 31 days holiday, uniform, 5% pension contribution and the possibility of on-site accommodation.
