The zoo Zurich and its 320 employees are
looking for a
ZOO-DIRECTOR (100%)
starting
on April 1, 2020 to succeed the current director who will retire by mid-2020.
Your Mission:
•
Business operations: Lead and coordinate the executive team & the
information/collaboration with the Board of Directors.
•
Strategy: Development of strategies and concepts including financing
(investments & operations).
•
External communications: Public relations including media work, and
supporting financial marketing.
•
Scientific work: Encourage and sponsor scientific work at the Zoo and
relationship management with academic institutions.
•
Animal collection, species survival and conservation: define programs
for the Zoo.
Your Profile:
•
Graduate in Natural Sciences, preferably with a PhD in Zoology or
Veterinary Medicine.
•
Passion for humans and animals.
•
Enjoys, and has experience in, leading an organisation/team.
•
Ideally basic knowledge of business management or at least proven
interest and talent for business matters.
•
Interest and talent for public, media, sponsor, and donator contacts.
•
Fluent in German (written and oral).
•
Good level of English and ideally French.
