Paignton Zoo, one of the largest in the UK and a registered scientific and education charity has an exciting opportunity for a cover keeper to join our Mammals team on a fixed term basis.

You will be responsible for the hands-on day-to-day husbandry of a large and diverse collection of mammals, focusing on animal welfare, bio-security, record keeping and ensuring that exhibits are maintained to the highest standards.

You will have at least 2 years of prior experience working with Mammal species in a zoological collection or similar establishment, preferably working with a wide variety of mammals. You will have a broad knowledge of husbandry practices and how they are implemented and be reliable with good time-keeping and attendance.  Primate experience would be an advantage.

This is a fixed term position for 12 months working 38.75 hours a week.

Interviews are planned for week beginning 15th February 2021
