Experienced Falcon Aviculturist

Experienced Falcon Aviculturist

International Wildlife Consultants(UK) Ltd

Carmarthen, Wales  Dependent upon experience & skills
Paid • Full Time • Permanent

Sectors: ecology, conservation & wildlife

Closing date: Sunday, 08 February 2015

Our falcon breeding stud is expanding and we would like to build strength in our aviculture team. The job is based on a 280 acre farm. We breed about 300 gyrfalcons and hybrids per year.

You should have a proven track record in breeding birds of prey, both as natural pairs and as imprints. You will have basic computer and record-keeping skills but high academic achievement is not as necessary as ‘green fingers’ with birds. You will have practical skills in building maintenance and handling machines such as pressure washers, power tools, lawn-mowers etc. During the breeding season you will be on duty every day. We are not open to the public.

You will be a non-smoker, with a clean driving licence and a valid permit to work permanently in UK. If you have no experience, please do not apply for this job, but we may be able to find a place for you as an intern.

Shared housing may be available.

Visit our website www.falcons.co.uk for more information and contact the Assistant General Manager, Drew Love-Jones (drew@falcons.co.uk) with CV and referees.
