Operative
Join our vibrant
organisation!
As an action-oriented
conservation charity, Marwell Wildlife’s aim is to connect people with nature.
Through enthusing our audience about the wonders of the natural world we’re
certain they’ll share our passion to conserve it. Our success relies on our key
assets. A spectacular day out for our guests at our 140 acre Marwell Zoo, with
its stunning array of exotic and endangered species and the amazing family of
talented people in our team, who share our passion and bring our vision to
life.
An
exciting opportunity has arisen for an Animal Services Operative to join our
team on a full-time basis. The Animal Services Operative is a key role that
works closely with our Animal and Veterinary teams to ensure the provision of
essential life support services for the animal enclosures at Marwell. This
includes ordering, preparation and delivery of animal diets, assistance with
ordering equipment and working in animal enclosures as well as the ordering and
delivery of animal bedding material and the removal of animal waste. This is a
varied role which offers the opportunity to be involved in many critical
aspects of animal care.
The
successful candidate will have previous experience of working in a zoo or agricultural environment and an understanding of
biosecurity in a zoo or agricultural setting. Experience of using farm
machinery is a must as is a full driving licence valid for the UK due to the
need to drive park vehicles. Time management and organisational skills are also
essential for this role.
Placed in the top 15
of the Sunday Times Top 100 Best Not-For-Profit organisations, we know that our
future plans will only be delivered through a great team of highly motivated people.
We’ll provide a generous package and the opportunity to further develop your professional
skills and abilities, to have a big say in future plans and of course, a
fantastic working environment!
