We require a part-time Ranger to join Bristol Zoo’s Ranger
Team within the Learning Department.
The primary function of this team is to intensify the
guests’ experience and their engagement with the natural world through an
exciting range of learning experiences.
Rangers staff the
lemur walkthrough as well as other animal walkthrough enclosures. Rangers
deliver enclosure talks and engage with guests around the zoo using a variety
of props and bio facts.
They are
responsible for delivering pre-booked animal experiences such as “Meet and Greet”
and “Keeper for the Day”, accompanying the guests through the entire
experience to ensure a smooth, high quality service is delivered.
Rangers also
deliver Lodge tours to guests who stay in the Zoo’s VIP overnight accommodation
and support a number of evening events throughout the year.
The successful
applicant will be joining a small team to develop and enhance the Zoo’s
informal learning opportunities
and will be expected to create learning material for staff and guests.
The candidate should have good knowledge of zoos,
wildlife husbandry and conservation as well as the wide range of species held

Rangers are very guest-focussed, enhancing our guests’
experience of the Zoo, and helping to meet our charitable conservation and
education mission.
