Set in 25 hectares of tranquil surroundings, Hamilton Zoo is home to more than 600 native and exotic animals. We’re looking for a Zoo Keeper to join our dedicated team.

If you love animals this is a great opportunity for you to work across all zoo operations and primarily be responsible for the care and display of our animal exhibits.

The successful candidate will be a motivated team player with exceptional communication and collaboration skills that enable you to work seamlessly with others and support your team members.

You’ll need to have an understanding of modern zoo philosophies, and be very safety conscious. The role offers a variety of mentally and physically demanding challenges, so being energetic and fit is important.

Previous experience in animal husbandry is a must. We are specifically looking for candidates with Chimp experience. You should have an understanding of the zoo industry as well as a BScTech, Certificate in Animal Management (captive wild animals) or similar qualification or experience.

The role is full time working on a roster across 7 days of the week.

The recruiting range for this role starts at $46,096.00 - 54,231.00 per annum and could be negotiated for the right candidate.
