Bird of prey presenter/demonstration falconer
The Lake District Wildlife Park is looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, dedicated team player to join our keeper team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about wildlife and the environment and wants to share this enthusiasm with others.
You will be directly responsible for the day to day and long term care of the bird section taking lead on the daily presentations and afternoon hawk walks, full support and day off cover provided by the park manager.
The bird team is in place however there is the opportunity for expansion and to put your own stamp on the presentations.
We are looking for someone with:
· Min 3 years of working within this sector
· An ability to demonstrate sound husbandry practices to deliver a high level of care
· The ability to work alone and as part of a team
· The ability to work under pressure
· Excellent customer service skills
· High level of presentation and communication skills
· Good organisational skills and the ability to multi-task
· Maintenance and enclosure refurbishment skills
· Initiative to continually strive towards improving the section and park as a whole
· DMZAA or equivalent qualification
· Full UK driving licence
Full time 40hrs per week
28 paid days holiday per year
Salary £20,800 + dependent upon experience
