Aquarist - SEA LIFE Chessington

An opportunity to be amongst the wild, the colorful and the amazing creatures, at SEA LIFE Chessington.

We are recruiting an experienced Aquarist to join our Zoo team as we venture into another awesome year at the Chessington World of Adventures Resort.

The role:
Your main responsibilities will include:
-Support all aspects of marine husbandry and welfare.
-Maintain high standards of marine health, well being, and public appreciation.
-Present the SEA LIFE centre to our guests, in an immersive and educational manner.
-Complete records and documentation as required.
Maintenance and refurbishment of displays.
Ensure correct husbandry needs of animal charges are met.
Keep up-to-date with Zoo world best practices and a strong knowledge of our competitors.
Seek opportunities for development.
Play an integral part in the Chessington Zoo team.

Typically working hours will be 40 per week, 5 days out of 7, however flexibility is required to suit the needs of the business.

This will include weekends, evenings and bank holidays.

About you
Our ideal candidate will have previous experience within a similar environment and have achieved a qualification in Animal Management, a Marine related qualification, or equivalent.
You will have a good level of understanding of natural sciences, and knowledge of the husbandry, welfare and ethical needs, of these underwater creatures.
You will understand our family resort and have the confidence and ability to interact and engage with our guests of all ages.
You will preferably have a dive qualification and will have a genuine interest in progressing your career within Merlin and SEA LIFE.
