The Zoological Department is currently looking for a
Deputy Head Keeper of Reptiles, Amphibians and Invertebrates
The main tasks of this position are:
-Assisting the Head of Section in the day to day running of the reptile, amphibian and invertebrate department.
-Husbandry duties including feeding, cleaning and enrichment.
-Completing documentation and records.
-Refurbishment of exhibits.
-Supervision of team members.
About You
You will have
-Extensive knowledge of the relevant animal groups. A good level of understanding of natural sciences, and knowledge of the husbandry, welfare and ethical needs of the species.
-5 plus years experience in a zoo environment.
-A good qualification in Animal Management.
-Experience of supervising a team.
-A good understanding of working within a family attraction and be able to engage and interact with guest’s of all ages.
This is a full time position of a basic 40 hours per week. All applicants must be able to work week-ends and public holidays.

The park is regarded as one of the most successful and fasting evolving zoos in the UK.
It is home to approximately 250 different species within sixty acres of landscaped park land.
Visitor numbers are in excess of 500,000 per year and the park prides itself on the excellent service it provides to all guests.
