Are you interested in a new challenge? Come and work at the New Zealand Centre of Conservation Medicine to provide a high-standard of nursing care to our native fauna and exotic species!
You will work with two vets, one veterinary resident and one other nurse to provide exceptional veterinary service to the rest of the Auckland Zoo. The team is expanded by weekend relief staff. You will be expected to be highly skilled and motivated, in order to assist the NZCCM in moving forward. We require a minimum of three years experience in veterinary nursing with a keen and demonstrated focus on anaesthesia and clinical nursing. Previous experience with exotic species is ideal though not essential. Here, every day is different - not everyone can say that they have anaesthetized a serval or a radiographed a kiwi!
Essential requirements:
•A recognised Veterinary Nursing qualification
•Minimum of 2-3 years recent full-time veterinary nursing experience, including significant clinical and anaesthetic monitoring experience
•Confident in animal handling
•Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
•Excellent written and communication skills
•High level of organisational and time management skills
•A highly motivated and dynamic individual with maturity and who are passionate about what they do
•A current driver's license
We offer a fulltime, fixed term contract of 6 months. The hours are 8am-4.30pm Monday to Friday, with some weekend work.
