Bird Keeper - Chessington World of Adventures


Job title: Bird Keeper

Guests visit Chessington World of Adventures for Britain’s wildest day out and the animals they encounter all add to the atmosphere of excitement and discovery. That’s why our zoo is expanding, and why we’re now looking an experienced Bird Keeper to come and join the team.

About the role:
Working within the Bird Team you will support all areas of the Zoo with a view to maintain high husbandry standards and animal welfare as well as appreciating our guest’s experience.

Key Objectives:
• Ensure Health and Safety of self, visitors and guests.
• Develop a personal training programme in conjunction with your Head of Section.
• Maintain the required records and documentation pertaining to your stock.
• Be confident in presenting your animals in an informative, educational and engaging manner.
• Maintain clear and direct communications in all directions. •

About you:
Our ideal candidate will have solid experience of working with Birds, focusing on husbandry and welfare and will have ideally completed an animal qualification or equivalent. They will be flexible and dedicated in their approach to work, with high standards both personally and professionally. They will be an excellent communicator with focus and drive to engage our guests in our exciting Bird collection.
