Experienced keeper

Full time/40 hours
per week.
Colchester Zoo is
seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual, preferably with a
background in animal training, to join its dedicated team of staff. You will be
working in a team of four and reporting directly to the Head of Section.
The section is
responsible for but not limited to the daily management of exhibits, animal
husbandry and the presentation of public displays. Having prior experience
working with penguins and sealions and possessing a competent level of
understanding of LSS would be advantageous.
The ideal applicant
will have a proven work record in a recognised zoological institution and have
excellent communication and presentation skills.
It is expected that
you will have been awarded the DMZAA or equivalent. However, due consideration
will be given to the individual's own level of zoological experience.
This is a full time
position working 40 hours per week and applicants are expected to work to a
flexible rota as necessary to include weekends and Public holidays.
