EXPERIENCED ANIMAL KEEPER

EXPERIENCED ANIMAL KEEPER

Manor Wildlife Park has a vacancy for an experienced keeper to join their dedicated and ambitious team in an exciting and rapidly developing collection, working on all sections of the zoo. This is a full time position working 5 days out of 7 on a rotational basis.

The ideal applicant will have worked for at least 2 years in a recognised zoological collection; experience of working with large ungulates, Sumatran Tigers and African Lions would be beneficial, however this is not essential to the role. Applicants would have ideally been awarded the DMZAA or equivalent but relevant experience will be taken in to consideration. Good communication skills are essential as you will be expected to deliver a variety of talks and engage with visitors. A firearms licence is desirable but again not essential and you will require a clean UK driver’s license.

The responsibilities of this role will include cleaning, feeding and the provision of general care for the animals and their exhibits, as well as ‘natural’ enrichment items and enclosure furnishings.  You will be working as part of a team and on your own as required.

Please send your CV and covering letter to Gemma Thomas, Manor Wildlife Park, Manor House, St. Florence, Tenby, Pembrokeshire. SA70 8RJ. Or alternatively apply via email to gemma@manorwildlifepark.co.uk

The closing date for applications will be 14th October 2016.
