We are the Cornish Seal Sanctuary and we are part of the Sea Life Trust!


As the Animal Care Supervisor you will assist the Curator in the management and organisation of the displays team to achieve consistently high standards of display presentation and animal husbandry. You will take responsibility for ensuring the continual development and innovation within the displays areas and be responsible for maintenance plans of the life support systems and the cleanliness of our displays as well as the development of suitable diets and feeds for our animals, ensuring we present world class displays.
  
You will be a dynamic, confident and a self-motivated individual; who will be an integral part of the team aiming for a centre of excellence in animal management, rehabilitation, conservation, preservation and education.
  
Using your experience, gained by working in a similar environment, you will have a robust knowledge of animal husbandry; and have the ability to communicate to all employees and clients as well as deliver a highly immersive experience to all our visitors.  You’ll also have a good understanding of zoo licensing having been through a zoo licence in a previous role, project management experience and ideally be educated to degree level or equivalent.


Do you have the following:
• 3+ years’ experience in captive care of marine animals.
• A knowledge of filtration and Life Support Systems
• 1+ years supervising a team.
• A strong and thorough understanding of animal health, husbandry and behaviour to ensure each animal receives individual care.

With the ability to 'think on your feet' and take ownership of issues that may rise, you'll promote and maintain the highest standards of customer services at all times, giving a truly memorable experience to all of our guests.
