The Iberian Lynx National Breeding Centre (CNRLI) volunteer programme has 4 open vacancies for the beginning of May of this year, with the duration of 3 months. The Centre is located in Silves, Portugal, and the volunteers will integrate the ethology and video surveillance team of the CNRLI. The volunteering occurs within the field of Ethology and Animal Behaviour and all the volunteers will have specialized training and lectures on this subject.
We are seeking motivated people with a background in the Natural Sciences field and high interest in volunteering at CNRLI during this period of the small cubs development: weaning, acquirement of locomotory and social skills, and much more. During this phase, specialized techniques will be used in the evaluation of physical and behavioral competences acquired by each cub as they grow up, until they are ready to be released in the wild.
Housing will be provided (for free) and European volunteers may receive a food stipend of 4,27€ for each worked day. For those who aren’t Portuguese, fluency in English or Spanish is required (both written and spoken).
