PROJECT LIAISON CO-ORDINATOR
Chester Zoo is one of the
leading zoological collections in Europe with an
international reputation for achieving its’ mission in conservation breeding
programmes, research and education.
We are currently recruiting
for a Project Liaison Co-ordinator. The post is a key role in ensuring new animal
exhibits at Chester Zoo are built to the highest standards, assisting the
Curatorial team and Team Managers in all stages of the design process. This
includes working on the world class ‘Islands ’
development, the largest single investment in a UK zoo, as well as a variety of capital projects and
minor enhancements for a range of taxa.
The successful candidate
will have practical experience in the husbandry of domestic or exotic animals,
as well as an understanding of the principles of animal welfare. A good
knowledge in the principles of modern zoo design is also required, with
attention to detail and excellent standards of exhibitory, meeting the needs of
animals, visitors and staff. Experience in the aspects of the design process, practical
hands on skills and experience of managing budgets are desirable. Candidates
will have a higher education qualification in a Zoological related science (min
degree) or equivalent experience.
This role will require
excellent communication skills, with the ability to present information
clearly, accurately and concisely in written reports as well as presentations,
along with experience of using Microsoft office packages. An ability to work
efficiently, with problem solving skills and a positive attitude is essential,
with the ability to work as part of a team or on their own.
Applicants should hold a
full driving licence and be prepared to work weekends and Bank Holidays in a
roster system.
Salary is £29,182 per annum
for a 40 hour working week.
