BIRD TRAINER

Based at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo,

ZSL Whipsnade Zoo
is currently looking for a trainer/presenter for its dynamic and high-profile,
natural behaviour displays. Working with
a diverse range of species, ranging from Eagles, Owls, Buzzards and Falcons to
Macaws, Amazons and toucan; the successful applicant will work with all aspects
of the care, enrichment, training and presentation of the animals used in the
displays.
The ideal candidate will have a proven
record of flying and training a range of birds of prey, experience of working
with trained non-domestic animals, and an appropriate animal management
qualification eg ANCMZA or DMZAA. Good communication skills,
enthusiasm and self- motivation are essential. Preference will be given
to those with experience of speaking in public. You must be presentable
in appearance, flexible in your approach, totally reliable, and be able to work
effectively both within a team and on your own when the need arises. You
will also need a full driving licence.
