An exciting
opportunity for a fixed term Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Animal Nutrition has arisen
within the School of Animal, Rural and Environmental Sciences at our
Brackenhurst campus. The School is located in a 200-hectare estate near the
attractive Minster town of Southwell. There is a range of fully equipped
laboratories, a companion animal unit, veterinary nursing facility and equestrian centre as
well as commercial beef and sheep herds.
The successful
candidate will primarily teach on the animal science courses at undergraduate and
postgraduate level. Subjects to be covered (both in theory and linked practical
sessions) may include but are not limited to:
· Nutrition of farm
and companion animals.
· Basic nutritional
biochemistry.
· Research in animal
science including experimental design, basic laboratory skills, data
analysis and evaluation.
The applicant sought
for this post will hold a teaching qualification, be an experienced and
highly motivated lecturer, and be well organised and able to work effectively as
a member of the academic team.
You will hold a postgraduate degree level
qualification, be able to contribute to research activity within the School and have or
be developing international networks.
You will need to be
motivated, organised and able to take responsibility.
Additionally you
need to have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively with
others.
