Keeper 

Dublin Zoo holds the prestigious position of being ‘Ireland’s Number One Fee Paying Family Attraction’ having welcomed in excess of one million visitors each year.

We are currently seeking a zoo professional for the position of ‘Keeper’ within Dublin Zoo on a full-time basis.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and passionate about wildlife, with the skills required to communicate this passion and knowledge directly to our visitors.

He/she must demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of modern zoo practices in animal husbandry, diets and environmental enrichment, as well as an understanding and knowledge of research, conservation and health and safety practices.

The successful candidate should have a minimum of 3 years experience working with animals in a Keeper role in a Zoological Garden and/or Wildlife Park and hold a Diploma in Animal Management from Sparsholt College, or equivalent, or be prepared to complete this course within a pre-agreed timeframe. Experience with Birds and/or Reptiles would be an advantage.

Applicants who have not yet achieved the above required qualification, if successful, will be considered in a Trainee Keeper capacity until the relevant qualification is achieved within a pre-agreed timeframe.
