Part Time Gorilla Keeper

Part Time Gorilla Keeper (Maternity cover - 1 year)

Howletts Wild Animal Park works in conjunction with The Aspinall Foundation; a charity committed to protecting rare and endangered animals from extinction through captive breeding and reintroduction programmes.

Howletts is home to the largest captive breeding group of Western Lowland Gorillas in the world with over 135 births to date.  We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team of dedicated gorilla keepers starting mid-September 2016.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience gained in a mainstream zoological collection - preferably with great apes - an awareness of current conservation issues and a passion for animal welfare.

This is a physically demanding position so candidates must be physically fit. A full valid driving licence is essential to the role.

Ideally you will possess experience of driving farm machinery and have a recognised Zoo Animal Management qualification.

Working 2 days a week out of seven, the successful candidate will have a genuinely flexible approach to working hours.

Closing date: Friday 29th July 2016

To apply: please email a CV along with a covering letter to: personell@aspinallfoundation.org

Visit our website at www.aspinallfoundation.org for further information.
