The Isle of Wight Zoo is now part of the newly formed Charity The Wildheart Trust. We’re in a period of exciting change and have big goals for the future, so we’re looking for a very special zoo professional to become our Head of Zoological Operations. We need someone who’s ready to meet the challenges of a fantastic job and enable us to enjoy sustainable success. 

Reporting directly into our new CEO and managing a skilled team of Department Heads this new, post will be responsible for all aspects of Animal Management, Education, Conservation, Horticulture and Facilities. 

The successful candidate will lead the Zoo Operations Team to deliver a consistently excellent standard of safety, service and animal welfare whilst continually working to enhance and promote the Zoo and The Wildheart Trust both internally and externally.

Working with the Chief Executive Officer and Trustees the Head of Zoological Operations will lead in the strategic development of the Zoo in line with mission and vision of The Wildheart Trust encompassing growth plans and utilising available funds to maximum effect.
