Hours: 37.5 Hours x 43 weeks & 16 Hours x 9 weeks

Work pattern: Including weekends, bank holidays and evenings

Duration: Permanent - Varied Hours

West Midland Safari Park are currently recruiting for an Animal Keeper to join our Ungulates Asia team. This is an exciting opportunity, where we are looking for applicants who can demonstrate the ability and knowledge to work with our extensive range of ungulate species managed in a drive through system. The position involves husbandry tasks, such as feeding, cleaning, health monitoring and enclosure maintenance delivered to a high standard. The role involves work within the Asia section, African Village and Lemur woods and will include monitoring of our guests in the drive through reserves and the delivery of keeper talks so you must be confident front of house as well as behind the scenes.

About you The role requires someone who is confident, motivated and enthusiastic about wildlife conservation and has excellent communication skills. The successful applicant will require good wildlife knowledge and have or be working towards, an animal related qualification to HND level or above. Ideally, we are looking for someone with previous experience in a zoological collection, although full training will be given. Due to the position being required to drive Company vehicles and accessing animal restricted areas, the successful candidate will need to hold a full, valid driving licence. You will need to be flexible in your approach to work outside of standard business hours, including weekends, bank holidays and some evenings during special events throughout the year.
