Askham Bryan College
is a specialist land-based college based across the North of England with
centres in York, Middlesbrough, Saltaire, Wakefield, Newcastle and Penrith.
Contributing to
higher education programmes predominantly at the York centre, the successful
Lecturer will carry out the responsibilities of a higher education lecturer in
animal-related subjects and contribute fully to the promotion of and continued
success of the College and Centres.
Effectively
supporting undergraduate students in their research as part of the lecturing
role, including support with data analysis and reporting, you will assist with
the development of the curriculum, plan and supervise the learning experience
of our students and engage in appropriate marketing activity in order to
recruit learners to ensure all programmes are viable and cost effective.
Educated to level 7
in Animal Management or another relevant subject, candidates should hold a
teaching qualification or be committed to gaining one in a required timeframe.
With experience of teaching and an understanding of a range of animal-related
topics and current themes e.g. animal science, conservation, ecology,
management of captive species and / or animal health & behaviour, you will
have a background of working within the animal-related industry and be capable
of working with a wide range of customers and clients.
In addition, you
must be able to take responsibility and ownership for modules which you are
responsible for and demonstrate and enthusiastic and organised approach to your
work.
