Technical
Instructor, Animal Management
We are looking to
recruit a new self-motivated Technical Instructor to work with our Animal
Management team, providing support and technical assistance to the teaching
staff at our Hadlow campus. You will be
required to give practical demonstrations and technical instruction in varying
aspects of animal care to our students.
The successful candidate will work as part of a small team responsible
for the care of the College animals and help to develop the collection under
guidance from the Animal Unit Manager.
The ability to
communicate effectively is essential for this role, along with substantial
relevant practical experience in a range of animal care activities. Some
experience in aquatics and small mammals would also be an advantage. As well as
being a genuine team worker and ideally with teaching and demonstrating
experience, candidates will need to show proof of a minimum Level 2
qualification or equivalent in English and maths. Qualifications A1/A2
(D32/D33) would also be an advantage.
You will be required
to work early mornings and weekends. You will also be expected to work on Bank
Holidays on a rota basis.
The successful
candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
check and provide proof of their right to work in the UK. A prohibition check
will be carried where applicable.
As well as a

car parking, this post also attracts 25 days’ holiday per annum, (pro rata),
excluding bank holidays.
