Lead Aquarist – Bird/Mammal Specialist

offer the exciting role of Senior Aquarist at The National SEA LIFE Centre,
Birmingham – a full time, salaried position at one of the Midland’s most
popular visitor attractions.
By joining us at the
National SEA LIFE Centre Birmingham, as a Senior Aquarist you will be working
with another Senior Aquarist leading a team of Aquarists reporting in to the
Displays Supervisor and Curator. You will help to care for the animals, as well
as the life support systems that are so vital to their wellbeing. You will also
play a vital role in maintaining the exhibits to the highest possible standards
and ensuring that they surpass the expectations of our visitors. You will
actively engage with visitors and communicate as an expert on matters arising
around displays and the creatures or marine environment working with the rest
of the displays teams to generate innovative ideas to enhance displays or
husbandry.
Ask yourself these questions:
• Do you understand
the importance of delivering exceptional customer service, and have experience
of successfully motivating others to do so?
• Do you like
working in a fast paced environment
• Have you
previously lead a team?
• Do you have
experience in driving results and targets?
• Can you think
quickly on your feet to adapt to changing situations and resolve operational
issues under pressure?
• Do you have 3-4
years experience working with aquatic birds and mammals?
