Qualified Animal Ranger – Carnivore Section

Qualified Animal Ranger – Carnivore Section

Since its opening in 2009, Yorkshire Wildlife Park has evolved to become the UK’s number 1 on-foot safari. We feature walkthrough exhibits that take the guest directly into the world of the animals. A dynamic centre for conservation and welfare, the park currently has over 400 animals across more than 70 different species. Over the next five years the park is planning multi-million pound unique and innovative developments which will introduce charismatic new species to the park.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly-motivated individual to join our enthusiastic and energetic Carnivore team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the leadership team with the daily management of the Carnivore Section, ensuring the highest standards of husbandry, welfare and health for our animals. Candidates with experience of working with bears and big cats would be particularly welcome.

To be considered, candidates must hold a Diploma in the Management of Zoo and Aquarium Animals (DMZAA) or a degree level qualification in an animal related subject area, in addition to at least 3 years experience working in a paid position within a zoological collection.

This is a full time, permanent position which will include weekend and bank holiday work.
