A position has
become available for an experienced Carnivore and Big Cat Keeper. The position is for a 45 hour week, includes
weekend work, and flexibility in working hours is essential to this role.
We are looking for
an enthusiastic, dedicated and highly motivated individual to join our small,
friendly team. This position provides a

other spp.
This position

preparation, provision and supply; exbibit and enclosure design and upkeep;
record keeping, health & safety and liaison with other colleagues and
collections in the UK and abroad; working closely with our other staff,
Veterinarians, zoo management and colleagues in other collections; and
production and delivery of keeper-talks and education sessions, alongside our
education department.
The successful
applicant will be responsible for ensuring the highest standard of care for our
animals, and be committed to running and developing our conservation, breeding
programme for the Tigers and Cheetahs – and must be capable of working well
within a team, as well as alone and unsupervised. You must be educated to at
least GCSE level in English and maths and sciences, and an animal based
qualification is desirable.
Experience in this
area is critical, and full references must be provided.
Due to the physical
nature of the job, applicants will need to be physically fit and healthy, and
be fully prepared to work outside in all weathers.

good knowledge of carnivores and global animal conservation issues.
• An
ability to communicate this knowledge to the general public.
