Animal Keeper –
Carnivores
Join our vibrant
organisation
As an action
oriented conservation charity, Marwell Wildlife’s desire is to connect people
with nature. Through enthusing people about the wonders of the natural world
we’re certain they’ll share our passion to conserve it. Our success relies on
two key things. The impression we create through our 140 acre zoological park,
Marwell Zoo, with its wide array of exotic and endangered species and the
family of talented people we employ who share our passion and bring our vision
to life.
A full time
opportunity has arisen to join our Animal Management Team as an Animal Keeper
on our Carnivores section.
We have exciting
plans for our collection and exhibits, offering great opportunities for
creative project and team work with a focus on animal behavior, nutrition and
enrichment. This post offers a fantastic opportunity to work with our extensive
carnivore collection including species such as Amur tigers, Amur leopards, snow
leopards, otters and mongoose.
Animal Keepers are
responsible for carrying out all aspects of animal care, including husbandry
routines, managerial operations and environmental enrichment, and supporting
veterinary intervention as required.
The successful
candidate will have a background in the keeping of a variety of Carnivore
species. You will be able to work well as part of a team, have the ability to
use your initiative, display an interest in and commitment to animal welfare
and conservation, and must possess strong communication skills.
Accommodation may be
available on a short term basis to the successful candidate. Please note this
would incur a rental cost. Due to the need to drive park vehicles, candidates
must also hold a full driving license valid for the UK.
If you would like to
join our unique and vibrant organisation and become part of our Marwell Family,
please visit our website, marwell.org.uk for a full candidate brief and our
application form. This application form must be completed for you to be considered
for this role.
