The college is
seeking to appoint an animal management centre (AMC) technician to contribute
to the college’s zoo licensed and BIAZA accredited animal management centre.
The role requires someone to specifically contribute towards the care and
husbandry of the reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates and fish that take
residence in the exotics house at the AMC. The key responsibilities are
developing and maintaining high standards of husbandry and animal welfare as
well as the supervision of students during their practical sessions.
The successful
candidate will be expected to have proven knowledge and experience in the
husbandry and breeding of a large range of lower vertebrate and invertebrate
species as well as experience of working with young people.
The successful
candidate will maintain and upkeep the curriculum areas, ensuring that the
learners’ experience is both positive and rewarding. To meet this aim it is
essential the post holder has a clear commitment to providing high quality
support to our learners as well as demonstrating exceptional standards of
animal welfare.
