The Isle of Wight Zoo is part of the The Wildheart Trust; a charity who’s missions is to inspire and empower people to take positive action to protect our planet and the animals we share it with. At the zoo we provide forever homes for big cats and other exotic animals which have predominantly been rescued from circuses or the pet trade.

 

Situated adjacent to the award-winning Sandown Bay on the Isle of Wight, the location could not be better!

 

The charity is in a period of exciting change and we have a rare opportunity for someone to join us as our Deputy Animal Manager. In this full-time role you will support the Animal Manager in providing direction in best practice for animal husbandry & welfare. You will also be supervising the implementation and evaluation of the administrative, health and safety, operational and planning function of the animal department.

 

The successful candidate will assist the Animal Manager in leading the Animal Team to deliver a consistently excellent standard of safety, service and animal welfare whilst continually working to enhance and promote the Zoo and The Wildheart Trust.
