Gorilla Internship

Gorilla Internship (unpaid)

Situated near Canterbury in Kent, Howletts works in conjunction with The Aspinall Foundation; a charity committed to conservation and the reintroduction of captive bred species back into their native habitats.

Howletts Wild Animal Park has an exciting placement for an enthusiastic individual wanting to gain valuable zoo animal keeping experience working alongside keepers on the
Gorilla section.

We are looking for candidates who are willing to commit to a minimum of 6 months up to a maximum of 12 months, volunteering 5 days per week including weekends. Normal volunteering hours are from 8am to 5pm.

This placement is physically demanding so applicants must be physically fit, self-motivated and have a genuine interest in conservation and zoo animal care. The internship is unpaid and would benefit those who have either already gained or are working towards an animal management or similar qualification. As well as an individual who is established in conservation or animal care and looking for further specialist zoo experience.

A valid manual driving licence is desirable and please be aware that unfortunately we are unable to offer accommodation.

Closing date: Friday 5th August 2016

To Apply: Please email a CV and covering letter outlining why you are the right person for the internship to Jo Stephens - personell@aspinallfoundation.org

Please put the position you are applying for in the subject line:
