Section Head of Small Primates - Howletts Wild Animal Park

Howletts Wild Animal Park, situated in South Kent is recruiting for a
head primate keeper to manage their unique collection of endangered
primates.

Applicants must have a proven track record in a similar position at a
recognised zoological collection. Excellent animal husbandry skills,
team leadership and interpersonal skills, good written and oral
communications skills, the ability to motivate and develop others and
a valid driving licence are essential requirements for this position.

We are looking for a highly organised, self motivated individual with
a proactive approach who has an understanding of the role of the
modern animal collection and can plan for the future development of
the section.

You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the small primate
section including recruitment, disciplinary issues, development of
animal personnel, conducting performance appraisals, risk assessments
and managing annual budgets.

Previous experience in a similarly placed position is essential in
order to be considered for this post.

Salary up to £20,500 depending on experience.

A 3 bedroom house adjacent to the Park is available if required.
