that visit us every year. Our Hoofstock Team are looking for confident and
enthusiastic Lead Keeper to join the team for an interim period of up to 12
months for maternity cover.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is an exciting
opportunity for a Lead Keeper within our Hoofstock team. The lead keeper will
be responsible in a senior role for leading the team in all aspects of the
daily care of the animals, ensuring excellent levels of guest experiences.
You will be working
with an incredible variety of species including White Rhinos, Ring-tailed and
brown Lemurs, Eland, Bongo, Rhesus Macaques, Grants Zebra and our very
successful group of Rothschild Giraffe.
ABOUT YOU
Our ideal candidate
will have a positive attitude and excellent interpersonal and communication
skills. You must be able to lead by example and have strength in team
management as well as the ability to think creatively and make operational
decisions as they arise.
You will ideally
have 5 years’ experience working in an animal collection, including in a
supervisory role and have a flexible approach to work well under pressure. A
specific vocational and technical qualification, such as a DMZAA qualification
or suitable recognised equivalent experience is essential.

internal applicants must be at minimum Grade 2 Keeper level to apply.
HOURS OF WORK
This is a Fixed Term
position of up to 12 months, working 40 hours a week hours over 5 days as
required by the business to include weekends, evenings and bank holidays. Hours
will vary from 8.30am until close (times vary throughout the season).
