Salary dependent on experience: 
£21,760 - £23,431


Tilgate Nature Centre is looking for two enthusiastic and outgoing individuals to join the team, one role will be permanent and the other is to cover a period of maternity for up to 12 months.

We are looking for individuals who engage with our visitors by giving fun educational talks about our animals, as well as hosting public activities and helping with animal husbandry tasks.

The main role of these individuals will be to interact with our visitors and to tell them all about the wonderful world of animals in both formal classroom sessions, and via public presentations.

Animal husbandry and animal training tasks will also be required. The successful candidates will be passionate about the world of wildlife and sharing it with others. They should have excellent customer service skills and have qualifications in animal care and/or education, with experience of public speaking.

Tilgate Nature Centre is currently undergoing a major re-development, with the latest addition being our Americas Zone, which is home to tapir, capybara and macaws. This position is a unique opportunity to be involved in the development of the zoo.

Both roles are full time and you will be required to work a 37 hour week from Sunday through to Thursday. There will be additional remuneration for weekend working as per the local pay agreement.

Satisfactory clearance of Disclosure and Barring Service will be a condition of employment.
