·         QUALIFICATIONS: Degree in animal science or Diploma in Management of Zoo and Aquarium Animals (DMZAA) as minimum.

An opportunity is available for enthusiastic and energetic individuals to join our team at Calderglen Children’s Zoo in East Kilbride near Glasgow.
Calderglen children’s zoo is a small thriving attraction with over 148,000 visitors annually. We would expect the successful applicant to share our vision of a modern small zoo and to be instrumental in moving us forward.

Requirements

Overall Purpose:
To assist with the operation of the Children’s Zoo and Conservatory within the Country Park.   To assist with the provision of information to the public, primarily in relation to the Children’s Zoo and Conservatory.
Key Tasks:
Assist with the day to day operation of the zoo and conservatory
Assist with all aspects of animal welfare and animal husbandry
Direct delivery of both a formal and informal activity programme for calderglen zoo and to assist with the development of these programmes
Assist in the maintaining the record management system for all animals
Maintaining quality systems and health & safety procedures
