Aquazoo Vision would like to announce that we are looking for a hard working and motivated Head Dolphin Trainer to join our marine mammal training team.Successful candidate will be based in a non-profit research, education and interaction facility in Asia.

As the facility that you are base in is an educational and interactive facility, you will be in charge of managing the marine mammal collection. This would include, but is not limited to; Maintaining current animal behaviour, including demonstration, interactive, and husbandry behaviour, and training new behaviours, using positive reinforcement and operant conditioning techniques; Working closely with the veterinary staff for medical procedures and sample collection; diet and health management; and facility design and maintenance. You will posses strong customer service and guest management skills as you will be running guest interaction and education programs. Experience working with guests of all ages and nationalities is a plus. The head trainer will be in charge of managing the training team, with an emphasis on training and mentoring new and existing staff. They will also need to be able to work closely with management to carry out plans in a timely manner.

Job Requirements

• Must be able to do the above described work, and posses a good work ethic.
• Must have a minimum of four (4) years working with marine mammals in a similar role, and a sound knowledge of marine mammal training and behaviour.
• Be physically fit and a strong swimmer in all water depths.
• Be able to work in harsh environmental conditions, such as direct sunlight, heat and heavy rain.
• Strong customer service and public speaking skills.
• Must be able to work efficiently in a team based environment.
• Must be able to speak, understand and read and write in English.
• Minimum Open Water Scuba Certification
• Drivers licence
• Tertiary degree (or diploma), preferably in biology, animal science, psychology or related field.
• Experience with disability programs and/or dolphin therapy programs is beneficial.
• Ability to communicate in a second language (preferably Chinese, Korean or Japanese) is beneficial but not mandatory.
