Wild Discovery

 

Wild Discovery is a small zoo that is growing and expanding.  We are looking for an experienced Bird Keeper, trainer and flyer that will support the development and introduction of several new features for Wild Discovery.

 

The successful candidate must be passionate and self-motivated, with at least 2 years’ experience working with a variety of birds species, including birds of prey.  You must also have proven experience with training birds for flying displays.  The role will include working with all other taxa in the collection to support the WD team, therefore experience with these taxa would be advantageous, however full training will be provided.   The role will require you to design and implement training plans for bird species in the collection and future acquisitions.  Aid with acquisition of new species and deliver educational talks/displays, encounters, and experiences.

 

Successful candidates will be required to deliver a short presentation as part of their interview, details of this will be given to those invited for an interview.

 

This is a full-time position working 5 days out of 7 (including weekends and bank holidays).  The role will also require evening work for delivery of seasonal events, therefore flexibility is essential.
