Full time – 40 hours per week (annualised)

Blackpool zoo is looking for an experienced senior animal Keeper to join our team and assist in the daily care and husbandry needs of a wide range of species currently maintained in our collection.

The successful applicant will be a proven team player with a good knowledge of the zoological industry and an understanding of the requirements needed to maintain and continuously improve the husbandry and welfare of the animal species under their care. You will be required to work with all species on your section in a safe and secure manner and as a senior keeper you will be expected to oversee and supervise other staff members and on occasions manage the section in the absence of the Section head. 

You will need to be hard working, physically fit, enthusiastic, and reliable. You should possess the Diploma in The Management of Zoo and Aquarium Animals (DMZAA) or an equivalent and have a minimum of five years keeping experience, a full valid driving licence is also essential. Previous experience supervising staff and working with a range of category 1 animals (particularly Big Cats, Elephants and Great Apes) would be desirable.

Salary commensurate with experience. Potential for onsite subsidised single accommodation if required.

Parques Reunidos currently operates 61 parks around the world and in normal operating times attracts over 21 million visitors annually.
