FERAL - WILD ANIMAL PROJECT


LOCATION: NR FOWEY,  CORNWALL

HOURS: FULL TIME (AVERAGING 45 HOURS PER WEEK, WILL INCLUDE SOME WEEKENDS AND BANK HOLIDAYS AS NEEDED)

SALARY: £19 - 24,000 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE, 28 DAYS HOLIDAY (INCL BANK HOLIDAYS)

About the Role

Feral WAP is a small, private Conservation and Breeding Centre based in a secluded
Setting in the grounds of a private property in Cornwall.

It is not open to the general public but open for tours and other events on a booking basis at certain times of the year.

The facility houses an important collection of animals and you will be working alongside a variety of species including Sun Bears, Spotted & Brown Hyena, Malagasy Carnivores and various Mustelids, Primates including Bearded Saki, Lemurs and some Callitrichids and Birds such as Great Hornbill, Saddle Billed Stork, Shoebill and King Vulture.

Whilst the facility is private our enclosures and housing is maintained to a standard more akin to A Modern Zoo and we are looking for an Animal Keeper who is self motivated, dedicated and not afraid of hard work. You will often need to work alone or as part of a small team.

Experience

We are looking for someone with the following:


*       Previous experience working with similar species.

*       Good interpersonal communication skills.

*       Obvious passion and interest in this field.

*       Positive and cooperative attitude to work and management.

*       An Interest in horticulture and aesthetics a plus also ability to pick up
        a hammer or screwdriver if needed to do basic repairs or maintenance.

*       High cleanliness standards and organisation skills essential.

*       Full UK Drivers Licence
