HOOFSTOCK KEEPER
The Hoofstock
collection at Howletts consists of a wide variety of species including Bongo,
Kudu and Black Rhino.
This position will allow the right person to help shape and oversee the
direction of the section over the
coming years. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and dedicated individual with
excellent animal husbandry skills.
The ideal candidate
will have previous animal husbandry experience gained in a similar position at
a main stream
zoological collection. They will also have an awareness of current conservation
issues, a passion for animal
welfare and be enthusiastic about contributing to the enrichment of the
hoofstock species around the
park.
A practical and
proactive approach coupled with good organisation and communication skills and
an overall
understanding of the role of modern animal collections is essential along with
a full, clean driving licence.
Occasional security
shift duties are also required as part of this role for those living on site.
Working five days
out of seven, including weekends and bank holidays the successful candidate
will have a genuinely
flexible approach to working hours.
Single person
accommodation may be available.
