Safari and Adventure Park is situated midway between Glasgow and Edinburgh just
four miles from Stirling. We are a small privately owned Safari Park of 125
acres holding 70 species of animals.
We require a full
time permanent bird keeper and presenter to join our small team of keepers
flying small and large species of birds in demonstrations for our public in a
beautifully situated outdoor seated arena. This person must be passionate about
maintaining a high standard of animal welfare and promoting public awareness of
the species within our care.
Applicants must have
a minimum of 12 months continuous employment in a zoo environment or similar
and hold a zoological qualification or apprenticeship. It is essential to have
excellent communication and delivery skills so an outgoing personality would be
advantageous also the ability to manage time efficiently and working to set
targets will be necessary.
The role will
include all daily bird husbandry duties, general housekeeping, bird training,
food preparation, accurate record keeping, visitor interaction, flying
demonstrations.
Salary is negotiable
depending on experience and to be reviewed after 6 months, a full clean driving
licence is essential.
