Volunteer Coordinator
Part Time - 20 hours a week
Salary £8,112.00per annum (equivalent to £7.80 per hour)   

Howletts Wild Animal Park & Port Lympne Reserve work in conjunction with The Aspinall Foundation, a charity committed to protecting rare and endangered animals from extinction through captive breeding and reintroduction programmes. The two parks, located in South East Kent, are established visitor attractions attracting over half a million visitors each year.
We are looking for a highly motivated and proactive person who has experience of working with volunteers. This is an exciting opportunity to develop volunteers across both Howletts Wild Animal Park and Port Lympne Reserve to maximise the contribution of all volunteers who support the vital work of the parks and The Aspinall Foundation charity.
The Role:
Responsible for recruiting volunteers and interns matching the skills and availability to the available roles. Completing volunteer agreement paperwork and working with department heads to implement structured volunteer internships. The role also involves organising corporate volunteer days for local- businesses and liaison with our Head of Corporate Partnerships to build relationships with local and national companies to support our work. 
The Person:
Along with excellent people skills, you must have the confidence and expertise to communicate our vision and inspire others to take up volunteering roles. You will be able to effectively manage, motivate and develop a range of volunteers and will possess excellent time management and communication skills both written and verbal. Proficient in computer skills and experience of working with databases. Must have a ‘can do’ attitude and share the organisation’s passion for animal conservation.
Reporting to the Human Resources & Training Manager, working 20 hours a week your working hours will be flexible but will including working some weekends. Based at Port Lympne Reserve but also responsible for Howletts Wild Animal Park travel between sites will be expected so a valid driving licence and your own transport is essential.
