ASSISTANT
CURATOR/HEAD of AQUARIUM
BRISTOL ZOO GARDENS
Full-Time Position
Starting Salary:
£23,250
This will be
reviewed following the successful completion of the probationary period.
Applications are
invited for the position of Assistant Curator/Head of Aquarium. This is a
hands-on managerial position, with the post holder being responsible for
line-managing our small Aquarium team, and for the daily care and management of
the Society’s fish collection.
To be successful in
this role, you will be able to demonstrate significant skills and experience in
delivering high standards of animal care and welfare in an aquatic collection
environment. You will also need to demonstrate experience in inspirational people
management.
You will have a
relevant animal husbandry or biological science qualification. You will be
expected to support the Head of the Ectotherm Section (reptiles, invertebrates
and fish) in a seven-day/week working environment and be a part of the Zoo’s
senior animal team.
A minimum diving
qualification of PADI Rescue diver or equivalent would also be an advantage.
This is a full time
position working 40 hours per week, which will include weekends, Bank Holidays
and some evenings.
