An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Animal Support Operative to join our team on a full-time basis. The Animal Support Operative is a key role that works closely with our Animal and Veterinary teams to ensure the provision of essential support services for the animal department at Blackpool Zoo.

 

The role:

 

Duties include the preparation and delivery of animal diets formulated in our new Central Animal Kitchen to the various animal sections as well as basic maintenance tasks in animal enclosures. The delivery of animal bedding material and the removal of animal waste is also a crucial part of this role. This is a varied role which offers the opportunity to be involved in many critical aspects of animal care.

 

About you:

 

Ideally the successful candidate will have previous experience of working in a zoo or agricultural environment and an understanding of biosecurity in similar settings. Experience of using farm machinery would be desirable and a full manual driving licence valid for the UK is essential due to the need to drive park vehicles. Excellent time management and organisational skills are also essential for this role.
